RESULTS 2016

A NOTE FROM THE BOARD…
Filmmaking is a long, oftentimes arduous business that requires both the filmmaker, and everyone else involved in the process, to explore the far reaches of creativity… and exercise extreme patience. We are all dreamers, though, and watching our dreams germinate and then come to life makes the journey nothing short of magic.
To all of the dreamers who have shared their visions with AMPS, the Board of Directors wishes to thank you. Your journey was not an easy one, which makes the Film Festival a painstaking process as well.
It is with great pleasure that the American Motion Picture Society Board of Directors announces the recipients of the 2016 AMPS Film Festival Awards!

A FINAL NOTE…
The results from every judge, from every festival are, of course, subjective. We are all moved and motivated by our own personal point of view. We approach filmmaking from different perspectives. And so, naturally, one judge may rate a film differently than another. The reasons we participate in festivals is to learn, explore, grow and improve our craft. And absorbing and using the input from judges and audiences alike is an invaluable part of the growth process.
Regardless of where we are in the filmmaking world, or whether this is a career or a hobby, we all need to value the opinions of others, through which we learn and develop new techniques and improve our skills. And always, but always, continue to explore the world through a different lens…
